The Amazon Account Health & IPI Checklist

The weekly routine I run across a portfolio to keep IPI above the line, clear dead inventory, and stay ahead of suspension risk. Work top to bottom. Anything you cannot tick is a risk worth closing this week.

Inventory Performance Index

  • IPI is above 550, not just above the 400 threshold, for real headroom.
  • Stranded inventory is checked and cleared every week, the moment it appears.
  • Excess inventory flags are actioned, by removal or markdown, on the named ASINs.
  • Top sellers are in stock, with a reorder cadence that protects in-stock rate.

Account health

  • Account Health Rating is healthy across every active marketplace.
  • No open policy violations, suspected intellectual property, or authenticity flags.
  • Order defect rate, late shipment, and cancellation metrics are inside Amazon's limits.
  • A reinstatement plan exists before you need one, so a suspension is hours, not weeks.

Listings and compliance

  • Listings carry no pesticidal or disease claims on unregistered products.
  • Titles, A+ content, images, and back-end terms are all compliant, not just the bullets.
  • Buy box eligibility is intact on every key ASIN.
  • Catalog data is clean: no suppressed listings, no duplicate ASINs.

Planning

  • Peak-season inventory is planned against IPI headroom months ahead, not in December.
  • One dashboard shows inventory, account health, and sales across every brand at once.

If more than a few of these are unticked, you are one slow season or one policy flag away from a storage cap or a suspension, usually at the worst possible time. Staying ahead of that is the core of the Amazon operations work I do. When you are ready, get a free Growth Audit.
